5 Ways a Texas Insurance Broker Saves You Money

When most people shop for insurance, they call one company, take the number they're given, and hope it's fair. As a broker, my whole job is to make sure it actually is. Here are five ways working with a broker puts money back in your pocket.

1. I shop dozens of carriers at once

Instead of one quote, you get the market. I compare top-rated carriers side by side and bring you the best fit — often for noticeably less than the first number you'd have found on your own.

2. I find every discount you qualify for

Bundling, home security, claims-free history, new-roof credits — carriers offer dozens of discounts, and they don't always apply them automatically. I make sure you get the ones you've earned.

3. I re-shop your policy over time

Rates drift upward quietly. Each renewal, I look again to make sure you're not overpaying — and if a better option appears, I bring it to you.

4. I right-size your coverage

Overpaying for coverage you don't need is just as costly as being underinsured. I help you carry exactly what protects you — no more, no less.

5. I save you time (which is money too)

One conversation replaces hours of calls and forms. You tell me what you want to protect; I handle the rest.

Bundling in San Antonio: Is It Worth It?

"Bundle and save" is one of the most repeated phrases in insurance — but is it actually true for you? The honest answer: usually, but not always. Here's how I look at it.

When bundling wins

Combining your home and auto with one carrier often unlocks a multi-policy discount that can meaningfully lower your total premium. It also simplifies your life — one point of contact, one renewal cycle, one person (me) who knows your whole picture.

When it doesn't

Sometimes a specialist carrier prices your home or auto so competitively on its own that splitting them actually costs less overall — even after giving up the bundle discount. This is common with unique homes, certain driving records, or specialty vehicles.

How I decide

I quote it both ways. Bundled and separate, side by side, with the real numbers in front of you. Then you choose with full information instead of a slogan. That's the advantage of working with a broker who shops the whole market.

How Much Home Insurance Do You Really Need in Texas?

Texas homeowners face risks that folks in other states don't think about as much — from hail and windstorms to rapid rebuilding costs. Here's what actually matters when deciding how much coverage to carry.

Insure to rebuild, not to resell

Your home's market price and its rebuild cost are two different numbers. Your policy should cover what it would cost to rebuild your home today — labor and materials included — not what you could sell it for.

Watch your wind and hail coverage

In much of Texas, wind and hail is one of the most common (and expensive) claims. Understand your deductible for it — it's often separate and percentage-based — before a storm, not after.

Don't forget the gaps

Flood is typically not covered by a standard home policy. Neither are some water-backup or high-value personal items without an endorsement. I'll walk your specific situation and flag the gaps before they become a bad surprise.
